Fewer clients. Deeper work. Deals that actually close.
Tobin Acquisitions is a boutique industrial equipment brokerage — rotational molding, EDM, and metal stamping are where we run deepest, but the entire production floor is inside our scope, and every engagement gets the partner, not a process.
Who we are
The name Tobin Acquisitions reflects a deliberate choice — this is not a marketplace, a platform, or a volume desk. It is a firm built around the judgment of the people doing the work, applied to a curated set of engagements where that judgment actually changes the outcome. Boutique is not a concession; it is the operating model. We keep the client list tight because a machinery broker who is spread across fifty open files cannot tell you what your equipment is genuinely worth, who the right buyer is, or why a particular deal structure serves your interests better than the obvious one. We can, because we are not spread that way. The equipment categories we cover run the full width of a production floor — rotational mold systems and stamping lines, EDM cells and grinding departments, CNC machining and Swiss turning, die casting and injection molding, blow mold and thermoform lines, extrusion systems, rubber and silicone processing, fabrication equipment, automation and auxiliary cells, tool and die toolrooms, and mold and product line packages. That breadth is intentional. A client with a mixed asset base should not have to find four different firms to move four different equipment types. They should have one partner who knows all of it and who carries the same accountability to every asset on the floor. What Tobin Acquisitions will never do: inflate a valuation to win a listing, recommend a disposition path because it is easier for us, or allow a conflict between the appraisal desk and the sales floor to go unacknowledged. The boutique model only works if the advice stays honest, and the advice only stays honest if the firm is small enough that its reputation is on every single deal.
How we earn your trust
Tobin Acquisitions is built around a boutique conviction: a small roster of carefully chosen engagements, worked with full attention from first call through final close, produces better outcomes than a high-volume listing operation ever will. That conviction shapes everything — how we take on clients, how we price assets, and how we protect both sides of a transaction from the soft numbers and misaligned incentives that plague the broader market. Every engagement begins with a clear picture of what the equipment is actually worth. We produce documented valuations — fair market value, orderly liquidation value, and forced sale figures — written to hold up in front of lenders, legal counsel, auditors, and acquirers. Whether the asset is a rotational mold carousel, a sinker EDM cell, a stamping press with active tooling, a Swiss turning center, a CNC horizontal, a grinding department, a blow mold line, a thermoform system, an extrusion or extruders package, injection molding presses, die cast machines, fabrication equipment, rubber or silicone processing lines, automation and auxiliary cells, tool and die toolroom inventory, or a mold and product line portfolio — the valuation discipline is identical. No category gets a shortcut. Once the number is on paper, the disposition path follows from it. Tobin Acquisitions buys equipment outright when a seller needs speed and certainty — committed capital, no contingency on a buyer who has not yet appeared. When the asset profile or the seller's timeline calls for a different structure, we manage consignment programs, placing machinery directly with vetted buyers inside our North American network and through our active global buyer reach. Auctions and managed liquidations enter the conversation when a plant closure, a lender recovery, or an estate situation demands a defined endpoint and a defensible recovery figure. On the acquisition side, we source and vet specific equipment on behalf of manufacturers who have a production requirement and a budget — hunting the market until the right machine surfaces, then negotiating the purchase with the same discipline we apply when we are on the other side of the table. When the scope of an engagement extends beyond individual assets, Tobin Acquisitions handles complete business sales and turnkey facility exits. We coordinate the contracts, real estate, and M&E as a single unified transaction. The real estate transfers as part of that coordinated close — not through a separate brokerage relationship, but as one integrated handover with a single point of accountability. For sellers who cannot afford to have three different parties working at cross purposes, that structure is the difference between a clean exit and a prolonged one.
